When acquiring rights for the films, Future Film's first priority is to stay loyal to the profile it has, and secondary acquire all rights (theatrical, DVD and TV) for the whole Scandinavia. High profile independent movies and provocative art-house films that have caught the public's and media's attention are what we're looking for - the kind of films true to our company profile.
When acquiring films the theatrical potential is significant. By securing the theatrical window for film, we can increase its market value and the potential in the DVD market as well as in TV sales.
As for TV sales, the most well-known films so far in our line-up have been Blockbusters and award winners, or films that have been nominated for awards at different film festivals.
In TV sales Future Film works closely together with the independent film companies Noble Entertainment, Star Media and MisLabel. This means that even though these companies acquire films on their own, Future Film handles the TV sales negotiations for them. This 'joining forces' strategy has worked well for all parties, and it also secures the TV-availability line-up for each of the Nordic countries with a strong profile and a vast number of titles.
